Track updates and closures - Contact the landowner
The landowner or manager makes the decision to close a track – for instance the Department of Conservation, mana whenua or a regional council.
Some landowners or managers who have recently closed tracks to protect kauri trees, and may close tracks in future, include:
- Department of Conservation - Walking and tramping: things to do (doc.govt.nz)
- Auckland Council - Protect our kauri trees (aucklandcouncil.govt.nz)
Tiakina Kauri does not manage land and does not decide to close tracks. To find out about track closures or express your views, please contact the landowner or manager.
