Guidelines for phosphite treatment
Kauri are threatened by a soil-borne pathogen called Phytophthora agathidicida (PA for short), which causes the fatal condition known as kauri dieback disease. Treatment with phosphite (phosphorous acid, phosphonate) is one of the few options for treating infected or threatened trees.
This document provides practical guidelines for treating PA-infected Kauri trees with phosphite to suppress disease, slow tree decline and ultimately improve tree health.
