Report sick Kauri

Kauri are under threat from the pathogen that causes kauri dieback disease. Reporting sick Kauri helps us to understand the distribution of this pathogen in Aotearoa.

Kauri naturally grow in the upper North Island of New Zealand (Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Coromandel and the Bay of Plenty).

If you see a sick Kauri on private or council land in the upper North Island, please contact the local regional council to report it, via the details below.

If you see a sick Kauri on Public Conservation Land*, please advise the local Department of Conservation (DOC) office, and visit the DOC website for more information.

*Public conservation land is land managed by the Department of Conservation (DOC).  It includes national parks, forest parks, conservation parks and a wide range of reserves.
